Endless amount of snow does not stop us from enjoying the mountains and fjords of Norway during the winter months. This half day winter hike on snowshoes is an soft adventure with private guide, which makes it suitable for many, and can be tailored after your prefrences. Locally made lunch is included and will be served half way.
In the area around Storfjord, Geirangerfjord and Tafjord have multiple summer farms which are beautiful destinations for snowshoeing. Even though the summer farms are closed down for the season, our guide will still take you along into how the landscape of Norway have shaped our culture.
You do not need any previous experience with snowshoeing, but you need to be in ok physical shape to stay active for 3-4 hours at a slow pace.
Our snowshoe hikes normally runs from 10:00 am to 02:00 pm to get the most out of the short daylight. However, the tours are private and can therefore be arranged at different times. The tour can also be tailored as an evening hike with head lamps, and include dinner out in the open instead of lunch.
If you are staying at Juvet Landskapshotell, Kilsti Compact Lodge or other close by hotels, we can be helpful with transportation.
This tour have no age limit due to the ability to personal tailoring with private guide, however we do not recommed this tour for children younger than 10 years. Between 10-18 years they need to be accompanied with a guardian. Snowshoeing does not required any previous experience, and the guide will give you an intoduction to the equipment. The tours will not be in easy winter terrain and not in terrain where avalanche can occur. The length of the tour will be adjusted to the groups experience and physical shape. Winter clothing
The guide will always put the group's safety as a priority. This means that weather, wind, and other conditions will always provide guidance as to whether the planned route can be completed or not. Should the weather be too bad, we as the organizer will cancel, and you will be offered to move the trip or a full refund. Remember to read through our booking conditions and safety rules as this is automatically part of the agreement when you book a trip.
