Here we go through a safety and gear instruction, and get out of the water. Here you paddle in silence — often hearing only the sound of your paddle and distant waterfalls. Our Norwegian-educated guides are trained in outdoor education, safety and environmental awareness. They do more than guide — they interpret the landscape.
During the tour, we share stories of local fjord history, life in a slower pace the small village of Tafjord, the role of fjords in Norwegian culture, knowledge about wildlife and Norwegian hunting culture, birdlife, insights into geology and glacial formation and the Tafjord Disaster in 1934.
You may encounter sea birds, fish, and occasionally porpoises in the fjord waters.
