The trip to Lodalskåpa is long, there is a total of 21km and 1700 meters of altitude to go up and down. So this is a peak that requires you to be used to longer hikes in the mountains. We start the trip with a meeting at the toll road at Lovatnet, which takes us up to Bødalssætra. From here we leave the cars and walk on a flat followed by steep terrain a couple of times. We then have to cross the Bødal Glacier, which requires everyone to have a harness, helmet, crampons, and be tied into a rope. The guide fixes this.
Getting all the way to the top of Lodalskåpa requires some exposed climbing. There are nice shelf systems with access to grade 3. Here, the guide can assist with securing with rope if desired.
More information about the tour and gpx file can be found here: https://ut.no/turforslag/11884...
The trip requires good physical fitness, you should manage upwards of 20km with a day trip pack. Previous climbing or climbing experience is recommended but not required. The climb and the summit can be experienced as airy and exposed and one should not have a paralyzing fear of heights. The age limit on the tour is 15 years, and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The trip starts at the trailhead access road, see Google Maps:

It is a toll road and costs 25kr.
