This course is aimed at those who wish to learn the basics of sea kayaking and want a Norwegian Paddling Association course certificate, which is a requirement for renting sea kayaks throughout Norway. During the course, you will become acquainted with equipment and paddling techniques. We also go through buddy rescue, which means that you have to capsize with the kayak. We recommend everyone who participates in the course to try capsizing with the kayak and buddy rescue, it is actually very fun and offers a feeling of mastery and an increased sense of security on trips on your own. We have dry suits if desired. During the course we will take a kayak tour out to the freefalling Slufta waterfall, which is an adventure on its own! If the conditions are perfect we will try to paddle behind the waterfall.
After completing the course our guests get a 25 % discount on kayak, SUP, or canoe rentals the rest of the summer.
The course is 3-4 hours long and starts/ends at Tafjord Harbour. Participants have the opportunity to shower at our basecamp after the course.
Price for private groups: 1-4 guests 6000.- / 5-8 9000.-
